Blogs.

Honestly I think my blogs are a tad boring. haha they are really more updates on our lives. oh well. im sure one day something will catch my attention enough during the day and I will think "oh i should blog about that" haha maybe. (Tom just suggested that maybe he should be a guest blogger on here, but said he was gonna blog about random stuff which I think will be a nice change. so if you see him on here then thats what we have decided to do. hope you enjoy! he is pretty damn funny so Im thinking it will be very entertaining!)
Update on the girls.
Georgia is doing great as a Big sister! Im so happy. she loves her little sister and loves to kiss her or hold her bottle (with help to keep it up right) and must see her every morning before going downstairs. Its really very sweet. Havent seen any jealousy at all. The only issues we have had are a few meltdowns b/c one parent was alone with the girls and both of them needed attention at the same time. For example, I had both girls and Gigi needed a nap and Lorelei needed to eat (and as we all know with newborns they want to eat RIGHT THEN ) well all was well until gigi wanted to be carried up the stairs. I was holding Lorelei and balancing a bottle on my arm while carrying Gigis "night night" (her blankie) and her two toys that she wanted in bed with her. So this was a meltdown waiting to happen. and it did! Gigi cried and i just sat there not knowing how i should handle this. So i asked gigi to hold my hand up the stairs and that seemed ok with her. thank god.
Tom and I are getting used to two kids and less alone time. Its def going to take some adjustment and work at making time for ourselves, but we are determined to do it. Mommy and Daddy need adult time too and its just a matter of adjusting and finding the time. :)
We had a great time this weekend at Tom's best friend Dannys wedding. Tom has been friends with Danny since they were about 12 years old and we have known his finacee Nichole for many years. We always have a great time with them and wish them the best of luck in their marriage. I will post pics later as I get them. My camera died so Im waiting on toms sister to send them. :)

Lorelei Rose

Our new little angel is here. FINALLY! Only 3 days past her due date.

Lorelei Rose Lillis was born May 11th at 6:49 pm. 7 lbs 6 oz and 21 1/4.
So I had an appt the day before my due date and I thought for sure I should have been dialated more then the last time. Nope! I was so upset. Gigi was born the day before her due date and everyone always told me that second babies comes sooner and quicker then first babies. So where was my baby!? So we left with an appt for the following monday (4 days away) and a schuduled induction for wednesday night into thursday morning. sigh. I was terrified of being induced since I heard it hurts and can take forever and more then likely ends in a c section. :(
Her delievery was pretty amazing. I woke up (monday morning, the morning of my next appt.) to go to the bathroom at about 630 am and when I sat up my water broke! I have always heard about those woman who are asleep and hear a pop when their water breaks but since its so rare for your water to actually break on its own I didnt think mine ever would. But it did. and it was cool but gross and scary. Cause I knew contractions were next and that when there is no water they hurt like hell. So I got Tom up and we started scrambling around trying to get our last minute items packed. I woke my mom and let her know we were heading out cause she would be there when Georgia got up.
Off we went to the hospital! When we got there we were put in the triage room. This is where they check you and decide whether to keep you or not. Apparently there is this test they can do to tell if your water really broke. Well the nurse did the test and NEGATIVE for amniotic fluid. HOLY CRAP! you mean it didnt break??? so what was it? She said what could have happened was when I sat up to get out of bed, the baby could have been sitting right on my bladder and I might have just peed myself. EXCUSE ME! I could not believe that. How disgusting and horribly embarrassing. We had called all the family on the way to the hospital cause thats how sure I was it was my water breaking. I was so embarrassed.
We left the hospital, I think I cried. maybe not, maybe I just laughed. I cant remember. We still had our appt to go to at 1030 that morning. I was hoping the doctor could "help it along". We called off family, who laughed a little but also felt bad for me. We stopped at Redbox so that I could get a bunch of movies and stay in bed all day and feel sorry for myself. haha I got a package of twizzlers and mint tums (i was slightly addicted to them at the end) and 3 movies. We went home and got Gigi ready to go to Nanas. She was going to the dog park while we went to my appt. I went about my business like I do everyday. I noticed I was ummm, losing fluid through out the morning (sorry to those weak stomached people reading this haha).
Tom and I got to the doctors office and told her the story and even she said that it sounded like my water broke. she also said she doesnt always believe the nurses at the hospital. They cant do a good test that checks for sure. She said she was going to check me and then check the fluid under a microscope. when she came back she said it tested positive as amniotic fluid and that what I had was prob just a very small slow leak. So she said she was going to send us off to the hospital. YAY!!! we were finally going to have a baby AND I didnt pee on myself!
So we called the family again and let them know that it wasnt a false alarm and Lorelei was finally coming.
We came home and got all our stuff, again, plus the movies I just got since distraction is key to labor for me. haha
So we got to the hospital, they got me hooked up to all my stuff. Since I wasnt having any contractions they put me on pitocin. My nurse said she would up it every 30 min and that in about 2-3 hours i should start REALLY feeling them and they should be close and strong. well she was wrong. prob an hour later it was like all hell broke loose and they were coming every 2-3 min. At one point she stopped the pitocin (i think this was when I was getting my epidural) and they were still coming, which meant my body had taken over and was doing the contractions on their own. So I got my epidural and TOmmy and I went back to watching Benjamin Button (which i didnt like by the way, and not b/c I was having bad bad contractions but b.c its basically Forest Gump with Brad Pitt.). Well about 15 min later I realized that I could still feel all the contractions on my left side. So we called the nurse back in, and she called the epi dr. doctor back in (ok it was a different lady cause my first lady was in a c section with twins.) So they gave me a shot of something that was supposed to help but it didnt so back in they came and they decided the only thing to do was take the one OUT and start over. FSFNRDGNRITHWERJAASKD! holy hell this was gonna hurt. The contractions had obviously gotten worse over time so I was in a ton of pain (at least on one side) and now they were going to do the entire epidural over again. waaaa
But once she got it in, I was in HEAVEN! it was a beautiful thing. So all this happened at around 530ish. They had checked me at 515ish (right before I got the second epidural) and the nurse said I was still only 4 cent.
At about 630 I noticed the heart monitor wasnt picking up anything. So I called the nurse and she came in, she wasnt really worried, said that the baby prob just moved. So she tried for a few min to find it. While she was doing that, my other nurse and Doctor came in. The doctor thought maybe she would check me real quick. Well she did and said "OH WELL, UM there's a baby! right there" She told the nurse to get stuff ready and they both started scrambling around getting all the stuff ready. I started getting nervous cause Im always afriad of the pushing part of labor. Like I wont be able to do it or it will hurt too much. haha
Well the doctor told me to push on the next contraction, so I did and everyone started yelling, Tommy said "oh my god there she is!" the doctor said something like "ok stop pushing" the nurse said "megan look down at your baby". and there she was! Both the nurse and doctor started laughing cause it was literally less the half a contraction before she was completely out. The nurse kept saying "I cant believe it, one minute you were 10 cent. the next minute your baby was here".
Lorelei had to be handed over right away to the baby nurse that was there b/c there was meconium when she came out. So they suctioned her. and I couldnt even breathe. Toms cousin had meconium and was rushed to another hospital and it was very dangerous and scary. Apparently baptized in the hospital cause they were that worried. So I waited and waited for them to say she was ok. Tom was standing with her. they finally said she was ok and thats when i asked tom about her lip and feet which were both perfect!
Here are some pics of her.
Enjoy and I will add more later.

Update.

Well, Im here. At my due date. and noooooo baby. I never thought this would happen. People kept telling me "second babies come early and faster then first babies". THEY LIED. LIED I TELL YOU. I had my last official day of work on wed and ended up leaving early cause I was having a very strange feeling (down under) haha. And I mentioned it to a friend and she was like "you need to call Tom ASAP to come get you cause that sounds like your water might break soon". so I got a little freaked out at the thought of it breaking AT work. I mean it would have been my fault since I decided to work that close to my due date. but still I got a little freaked. So I left, and feel REALLY bad cause apparently they were having a cake for me. opps. Sorry Karen! So I came home and a big fat NOTHING happened.
So then comes my doctors appt early thursday morning. As she is "checking" me she says "hmmm?" I said "well thats never good when the doctors says HMMM" she said she couldnt feel her head right away and that it seems she has moved to the side a little. Nothing to worry about just yet but they will check on her again on monday morning. Also they schduled me to be induced. I go in Wed night at 730 for cerifile (sp?) and then staying the night in the hospital (shit loads of fun! for me AND tom since he will sleep on this little tiny pull out chair. nothing like a 6'5 man sleeping on something a toddler wouldnt feel comfortable on). then they will start pitocin early Thursday morning. This is of course if she doesnt come on her own before then. Im soooo crossing my fingers that she does cause I heard it hurts ALOT to be induced. and it can sometimes take forever!
Tomorrow is a full moon so im praying that helps. I went into labor with gigi on a full moon. so Im still holding out a little hope. And Im ok with it since I actually have an end in sight. It cant be longer then Thursday right. haha
So while its not what i expected, it is what it is. Im just hoping she stays this lazy when she gets here. sleep sleep and more sleep. haha
Stay tuned and I will update either monday with more news from the doctor OR post new pics of the baby. :)

Still smugglin a watermelon...

So its May 2nd and I seriously did NOT think I would still be pregnant. Everyone, and their mother would always say "that is NOT a may baby! you will for sure go in late April" well, WRONGO! In fact if she comes before her due date at ALL I will be shocked. For some strange reason I think she will be late. Compared to Gigi this baby has been very calm and chill. Gigi used to play with tom when she was in my belly. He would push on my belly and gigi would push right back. He could actually make her count. He would tap 3 times on my belly and gigi would tap back 3 times. it was fun. This baby on the other hand hides. If tom tries to get her to kick him she waits until he goes away and then she starts moving and groving. haha its pretty funny actually. But I have a feeling (knock on wood) that this will be our lazy chill baby. and honestly with crazy gigi we need that.
Speaking of Georgia, she is amazing me everyday. She is just over two and is already speaking in 5-6 word sentances. When we took her to her two year appt they said most 2 year olds only speak in 3 word sentances. I was shocked. I mean, granted she is the only child at the moment, so she does get all the attention. But I dont feel like we "work" with her all that much. Then again it could be b/c she is only ever around adults. Since she doesnt go to daycare she doesnt talk to other kids. So anywho, I hope we can give the new baby as much attention as we have Gigi.
So I prob wont be on here much in the next few weeks. The baby should be here in less the a week and then I will be thhe mother of TWO. ahhhhhhhhhhh yikes. im scurd. hahaha not really.
I will try and update when I can.

A-minals

So Saturday was such a nice day, and Tom was actually home this weekend so we decided to take Georgia to the DC Zoo! She loves going and we love taking her. You only pay for parking so that ROCKS! good cheap fun.

Of course like most children the word Animals sounds more like Aminals so when she tells people about it sometimes I have to clue them in. I enjoyed just walking my butt off since I'm now considered full term so BRING IT ON. I tried my hardest to walk as much as possible but brought some magazines in case I got to tuckered out. I must have slept wrong the night before and did something to my leg so it actually hurt at some points to walk. But I did my best. Gigi just loved the Meerkats! they were so cute. I will post a video of her chasing them. She wasnt too impressed with the other animals, but they didnt do much. The tigers were sleepy and lazy and the elephants just walked around and around. But she did enjoy the monkeys and the meerkats.
Here are some pics from the trip.
Gigi and Mommy sittin on the side of the tiger den. no worries it was the other side!

wish i was better at this.

I wish I was better at updating this thing. Urg.
Its not for a lack of things going on in the Lillis household, im just lazy. Either that or annoyed that everytime i get started on one I have to stop cause something comes up, like a two year old needing something.
Speaking of two year old. Georgia turned two in March. We had a big bday party for her at her fave place, The Little Gym. She loves going and playing there. We had a bunch of her little friends and cousins there to enjoy the fun. she had a Dora cake! she just loves Dora. and she got a ton of great gifts. thank you to everyone! Sorry Im a little late on the Thank you cards. If Im not attending to her, Im sleeping! haha
I am now only 4 weeks away from delievery. at least we HOPE. haha people keep making comments that I cant get any bigger (thanks alot!) and that there is no way I will go to my due date. WATCH ME. if you know me at all you know im determined. haha then again its not like I can really stop her if she wants to come early. Im only a few days away from being full term, meaning they will not stop delievery if I go. crossing fingers she makes it to May. If she wants to come late thats fine by me too. Its not that Im feeling good and could do this forever, lord knows this hurts like hell. She is so low that I swear when she punches her little fists, i swear shes gonna fall out. haha She doesnt move as much anymore. At least not kicks. just turns and rolls. which hurt even more. :( but its ok. she must come out at some point right?!
This weekend is Easter and Gigi and I made Dora eggs for the Easter bunny to hide for her. I told her that he takes the eggs she makes and hides them for a fun game of hide and seek and will also leave her a special easter basket full of goodies. We will also take some eggs to Nanas house for the Easter bunny to hide there. That way she and Barley (nanas puppy) can find them. We are going to dinner at Toms parents house which is always fun! Gigi has a special dress and a new white easter hat that her Grandma (my mom) bought her. It's so cute on her. She looks like Shirley Temple. Then again my mom and grandmother always looked like Shirley Temple with their curls. hehe. I cant wait to find out what kind of hair this new baby will have. Tom is thinking brown with ringlet curls. I think bleach blond and eventually curls like gigis.
We are pretty much ready for her to come and are very excited for the summer. We are planning a trip to NC to visit my aunt and grandparents in Wilmington. They invited us for July 4th so we are going down the tuesday before that and then leaving Wilmington on Sat the 4th to join toms family at the beach in Avon. should be great fun.
Here are some new pics of Gigi. This is Gigi and her best bud Barely.

This is Gigi at her Bday party with all her friends and cousins.

That is Gigi on her new Big girl bike that her Grandparents and Great Grandparents got her. Is it so freaking cute!
The picture with her in all pink is around Valentines day.
and the last one is of me and Georgia at Great Falls Park. Tom and I got engaged here and just love taking her there for long walks. She loves to climb, just like her dad did when he was little.

number 4.

So here we go again. My little baby is going to have ANOTHER damn surgery. This will be number 4 in her 2 years of life. At first I was very upset about this. I mean I always knew it was a possiblity for another surgery but it would be much later and would be for something different then what this one will be for. Georgia was born with two of her toes webbed. It is genetic and does run in the family. Tom uncle has webbed toes. But Gigi's feetie doctor thinks the webbing is causing her second toe to remain where it is instead of moving to where they want it to. So they are going to go in and clip it. The good news is that the surgeon that did her lip repair will be the one to do the surgery. Im very excited to meet up with him again. He is very sought after for cleft lip/palate repairs and also helped to seperate recent conjoined twins Erin and Jade. Here is an article on them. His name is Dr. Michael Boyajian. http://www.washingtonian.com/articles/people/1737.html

He did an awesome job on Gigi's lip but hasnt seen her since the follow up when she was about 6 months old. I hope he is pleased with the way her lip is today cause we are! He told us it would take about 3 years to look its BEST but i think it looks damn good now. :)

Im crossing my fingers and hoping that he sees her recent foot scar and fixes it. its just NOT pretty and we all know us girls love pretty feet. Her feet Dr. (Dr. Laura Tosi) did the last surgery. She isnt a plastic surgeon so its not her job to make it look pretty. just to fix the prob. which she did. but im hoping he decides to fix it since he is used to making things look pretty.

we go on the 23rd for a consultation with him and will find out WHEN the surgery will be. I hope its after her 2nd bday party (we are having it at The Little Gym) but before baby number 2 comes. I want to be able to concentrate JUST on Gigi, so it needs to be before May 8th. Plus the sooner the better cause Im already in my 3rd trimester, so im going to get huge, fast. So I will update you on the date of surgery later.

When we were at Childrens for Georgias every 3 months checkup, Dr. Tosi saw my big belly and said "oh and i want to see that baby at 3 weeks post delievery" I quickly added "oh no we already ruled out clubbed feet." I was very excited to tell her that. Like HAHAHA LADY! you aint gettin your hands on THIS baby! But i was quickly shot down when she said "Oh Im not worried about clubbed feet, Im worried about her hips. Hip dysplasia runs in families and since Georgia has it, that baby has a good chance of it. So bring her in about 3 weeks after she gets here for an ultrasound." I sat there in shock. Disappointed. Just when I thought we would have a low maintance baby I was quickly put in my place. Im still hopeful that she doesnt have it but we will just have to wait and see. Toms sister, and his cousin both had hip dysplasia and with gigi having it too this baby has a very high chance. So on June 1st Georgia will go back for her regular checkup and we will prob bring baby with us for her first meeting with Dr. Tosi.

So all that information to process in one doctors appt. yikes. info overload.

I will keep you all updated on all that. I know i have been bad about blogging but ive just been so darn tired. third trimester i guess. Everything is going very good with this pregnancy. I go to the doctor twice this week. Once for my regular appt and my gestational diabetes test and then 2 days after that to get my Rhogram shot (Im RH negative so in case the baby is RH positive like tom, I need a shot to protect me from her blood. ). Then I think i start going to the doctor every two weeks after that. Its gone by sooooo quickly! I still feel pretty good. I was MUCH bigger with Gigi. By this time with gigi, she was so high in my belly that I couldnt breathe very well. But this baby is sitting veryyyy low. so Im all good on that front. My back kinda hurts a lot but I take lots of baths. and tom just got me the most FABULOUS robe so that makes it alllll better. :)

Thats my update for now.

Here is a picture of Georgia and one of her foot scar that i was referring to earlier. Actually you can also see the reason Gigi is going in for another surgery. See how her second toe sits on top of the others? and its actually webbed to the 3rd toe. They think the second toe will move into a better position once its free from the 3rd toe. you cant even tell that its webbed. its a very small webbing.
