surgery update, what an angel!

hey guys, im still recovering from some sort of virus so i dont have a lot of energy to update each person so i thought i would just post on here. this is still going to be short and sweet cause i cant sit up for too long.

yesterday was gigi surgery. tom and i had to be up at 445 AM to be down in DC at Childrens at 545am. everything went well. I prayed HARD the night before just to have no fever for a few hours and to have the energy to be there for her. and God gave me that. he gave me enough energy to get her through it and get home, after that it was back to a fever.

anywho. when we got there her dr. Dr. Tosi came in and said she and the radiologist had spent a lot of time with gigis MRIs and they had shown it was more complex then they thought. i will have to explain that more later. we took her back, they put the gas on her and she went night night. about 3 hours later we got to go back and see her. she wanted to be held and was in a lot of pain but i think it was more her throat from having a breathing tube put in then in her foot. they had already casted the foot so we havent seen the incision but have been told its pretty big. Dr. Tosi came in to talk with us and told us that once she got in there it was even MORE complicated then she had expected. she apparently had an extra bone but also a joint that was attached to it. Dr. Tosi said "I called Uncle and got the hell out". haha leave it to our kid to throw the best orthopedic surgen off her game. She said she removed the bone like we had discussed but didnt feel removing the joint "just b/c its there" was a good idea. we will wait and see what the joint does in the next few years. she may need another surgery to have it removed later but more like when she is 3 or 4. so all is well right now. she is home and recovering nicely. tom has had to do most of it cause of course last night my fever spiked up again. here is a pic of her yesterday when we got home sitting with her Nana. even after going through a long complex surgery she still smiles. she amazes me everyday. she is our gift from God and we feel so very lucky that he choose us to be her parents. :)
